LEGAL LIGHTING AND LIBATIONS: THE CARNEGIE CLUB NEW YORK CITY

Since Mayor Bloomberg enacted the workplace-smoking ban in New York City, you’ll be hard-pressed to find an establishment where you can legally light up a cigar and enjoy wine, beer and spirits.

Alas, The Carnegie Club!

Established in 1996 in Midtown West, The Carnegie Club survived an exemption loophole and continues to serve cigars and adult beverages to its guests. This “boys club” encompasses everything a gentleman requires for an afternoon business meeting or an evening of jazz with your dame! The wine, spirits, and cigars down to the classic photos of Sir Winston Churchill and JFK, capture the essence of class.

(FYI: Reminds me a lot of my time at the Cornell Club with its hand-carved wooden bookcases and prestige aura)

We enjoyed a few Buffalo Trace Old Fashion’s and a pair of Padron 4000’s (a nice medium-bodied cigar). However, one can pick from several classic cigar brands and specialty cocktails exclusive to the club.

Cheers, Gents!

Establishment: Carnegie Club

Libations & Cigars: Buffalo Trace + Padron Cigars
