BEST BED & BREAKFAST EVER
Granted, we’ve only stayed at so many family owned B&B’s across the universe, but its hard to imagine any are more picturesque and cozy than Barabas in Brugge, Belgium.
This historic gem has 5 different suites for you to choose from all situated 2 blocks from the market square and the rest of this 16th century time capsule of a city. Its owned by a couple named Bert & Jill who were lovely and left us a list of all their favorite watering holes in Brugge we were able to cross reference with our list found here.
We chose the ‘The Cottage’ which had 2 floors, a fireplace and the most adorable little out-coved couch that sits over the river. Wake up, with the crisp cool spring or summer air breathing through the windows, birds chirping, river flowing and church bells in the distance. You’ll feel like you’re starring in your own film.
Disclaimer: Breakfast isn’t included at this B&B, it is an extra charge which didn’t bother us at all as we wanted to explore Brugge, however… looking back, I wish we ate out on the patio next to all the tours going by because it really is the most gorgeous seen. Further, the town gets a late start so if you’re an early riser you may as well eat on premise.
